John Rummes

John Rummes has faithfully served as Head of Maintenance at New Philadelphia First UMC for 26 years. He keeps the building running smoothly, handling repairs, painting, and maintenance, and is especially known for growing the church’s beautiful flowers. The flowers—and even some vegetables he plants at the church—are always there for anyone to enjoy. At home, John tends a thriving vegetable garden, and he is never happier than when he is out fishing, spending any free moment he can on the water. A Vietnam veteran and former phone company employee, John is always ready to help anyone in need and brings his care and dedication to every corner of the church.
